Postpartum follow-up
Follow-up at home
We're happy to visit you within 24 hours of returning home from the hospital. This follow-up can take place daily, including weekends and holidays. We'll discuss together how often the check-ups are needed, taking into account other appointments, such as those with Kind & Gezin or your pediatrician.
During these home visits, we monitor the health of both the mother and the baby, ensuring their recovery after delivery. The findings are recorded in the Kind & Gezin child record book and your medical file. If necessary, the Guthrie test (heel prick) can also be performed at home.
You can contact us any time with questions, uncertainties, doubts, or tears. We'll also remain available 7d/7 via WhatsApp until your child's first birthday.
Breastfeeding support
Are you interested in breastfeeding? Don't hesitate to contact your midwife. Together, we'll strive for a positive and successful breastfeeding journey.
Are things not going as expected? Then you can contact our lactation consultants Dorien or Nathalie for additional support and guidance at home.
Postpartum care
Sometimes motherhood doesn't go as planned. The pink cloud suddenly feels gray, you doubt yourself, or it feels like you can't keep everything in the air. Social pressure makes many new parents feel like everything has to be perfect, but that's completely unrealistic.
We hear these stories every day. Feel free to talk to us if things get too difficult or emotional. Together we'll find ways to regain confidence and joy in yourself. Because every mom is the perfect mom for her child.
