We are a close-knit team of three midwives, each passionate about everything related to pregnancy and the postpartum period. This shared passion led us to cross paths, and thus, Het Wonder midwifery practice was born. Each of us brings our own expertise, but what unites us most is the importance we place on warmth, trust, and a personal connection with the families we serve.

DORIEN
My name is Dorien and I live in Zemst. From a young age, I was deeply interested in healthcare, inspired by my mother, who worked as a home nurse. That passion naturally led me to the profession of midwife. After graduating in Hasselt, I moved to Antwerp for love and work, although I remain a Limburg native at heart.
I worked as a midwife at Sint-Vincentius Hospital in Antwerp for 25 years. In 2004, I also started working as a freelance midwife. At the end of 2025, I ended my hospital career and am happy to share my years of experience as a lecturer with midwifery students.
As a midwife, I continue to develop my skills. I've specialized, among other things, as an IBCLC lactation consultant, a postpartum consultant, and a diabetes specialist. This allows me to guide families with knowledge, care, and confidence through every stage of parenthood.

My name is Nathalie and I've lived in Berg (Kampenhout), on the border with Elewijt, since 2018. My husband, Thomas, and I are the mother of three daughters: Laura, Emily, and our little star, Elena*, who was born in 2022 after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
In 2006, I started my midwifery training. After graduating in 2010, I started working at Kind & Gezin, where I worked in various regions for almost 14 years.
Becoming a mother myself has given me a deeper understanding of parenthood: beautiful and intense, but not always easy. I breastfed for five years in total, gaining a wealth of experience, both in joyful and challenging moments. This reinforced my conviction in the value of good, warm support. To support you professionally as well as my experience, I decided to start the lactation consultant program in September 2025. Furthermore, our daughters spent their first years in babywearing, which inspired me to further my training as a babywearing consultant in 2021.
After Elena's* birth, I felt it was time for a new professional step. Today, I support families with great care and dedication as an independent midwife, both during pregnancy and in the vulnerable period after birth—even when things don't go as planned.

JOYCE
I'm Joyce, 32 years old, and I live in Zaventem. From a young age, my heart has been drawn to care, pregnancy, and newborns, so becoming a midwife was a natural choice.
In 2014 I graduated as a midwife, but first started working as a nurse for a few years while I further specialized with a training in pediatric nursing.
In 2016, I started working as a freelance midwife in home care. From 2019 to May 2025, I worked at the AZ Jan Portaels hospital in Vilvoorde, where I supported families daily in the maternity ward, delivery room, and neonatology, gaining valuable experience. Since moving to the mother-child practice in Grimbergen (Portael 34), I feel completely at home, right in the heart of primary care. The best part of my job is visiting families at home. Home visits give me the chance to step into a warm and welcoming home, reassure parents, provide information, and enjoy those first special moments together with their baby.
Besides my work as a midwife, I'm also a babywearing and pumping consultant.
