Follow-up during pregnancy
Intake
During an intake consultation, we'd like to get to know you personally. We'll introduce ourselves, explain what you can expect from us during your pregnancy and postpartum period, and take the time to create your file and listen to your questions and expectations. We'll also discuss the rates and check whether you have hospitalization insurance.
You can request an intake interview at any time during your pregnancy. The earlier in the pregnancy this interview takes place, the greater the chance that you can be supported by the midwife of your choice.
An intake interview typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes, depending on your needs and questions. We take ample time so that everything can be discussed calmly and without pressure.

Be sure to bring your ID and, if applicable, your hospital insurance details. The intake interview is completely free of obligation. We believe it's important that you feel comfortable and have confidence in the midwife who will guide you through this intense and special time.

Pregnancy follow-up
Increasingly, a normally developing pregnancy is being monitored jointly by a gynecologist and midwife. You can contact us from the very beginning of your pregnancy. From the very first weeks, we'll guide you with reliable information about lifestyle, nutrition, and other important aspects for a healthy pregnancy.
A consultation typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes, allowing ample time for both medical follow-up and personal guidance. During the consultation, we'll perform various checks, such as measuring your blood pressure, listening to your baby's heartbeat (from 12 weeks of pregnancy), administering a blood sugar test, and, if necessary, additional blood or urine tests.
There is also ample time to discuss questions, complaints or concerns, and we also provide practical information about the progress of your pregnancy, the delivery and the postpartum period.
All results will be carefully recorded in your pregnancy booklet, so be sure to bring this with you to your appointment.
Prenatal information sessions (individual or group)
To prepare you as well as possible for the birth and postpartum period, we offer various information sessions.
Every month, Dorien organizes a series of workshops (Dutch spoken) of three evenings, where small groups of 4 to 5 couples receive information about, among other things:
-
labor and delivery
-
breastfeeding
-
baby slings and bags
Registrations and more information about the workshops can be found here .
Would you prefer an individual session (also possible in English or French)? That's also possible with your personal midwife. The content will then be fully tailored to your specific questions and needs. This information session can also be combined with a medical checkup.
