We are deconventional. But why?

From January 1, 2026, we will no longer be conventioned.

This means that we are no longer bound to the RIZIV rates.
We did not take this choice lightly: it stems from our concern for quality, time and proximity.

Unfortunately, the current convention rates do not reflect the true value of our work: the time we take to listen to you, the personalized care we provide, our 24/7 availability, and the ongoing training necessary to provide you with the best possible guidance.

Our decision is based on love for our profession and respect for you — because every woman, every family, and every birth deserves professional, personalized care.

What does this mean?

The amount per consultation consists of three parts:

  1. Legal intervention by the INAMI/RIZIV

  2. Co-payment

  3. Honorarium supplement

The INAMI-RIZIV sets official rates for medical services. Everyone affiliated with a Belgian health insurance fund is reimbursed for their statutory contribution. This amounts to 75% of the INAMI rate. Thanks to the third-party payment arrangement, this amount is paid directly to us by the health insurance fund, so you don't have to pay it upfront.

The remaining 25% is the co-payment, your legal personal contribution.

We also charge a supplementary fee per consultation. The price may vary per consultation and depends on your insurance status. Read more below.
Depending on your hospital insurance, you may receive a full or partial reimbursement for this supplement and the co-payment.

Rates

We work with different rates for:

  • families with increased benefits

  • families without hospitalization insurance

  • families with hospitalization insurance

We offer these different rates because we believe it's important that midwifery care remains accessible and affordable for every family. Every mother and every family deserves a midwife who supports them with the best possible care. By organizing our rates this way, we can continue to offer high-quality care to everyone. Read more below.

Do you have increased compensation?

In that case, the co-payment and the supplementary fee will not be charged. The health insurance fund will then cover 100% of the costs.

Hospital insurance

Don't you have hospital insurance?

  • Both the co-payment and the supplement are your responsibility; you are not entitled to reimbursement. But we have specially arranged different rates for you, so that the midwifery costs do not become too high and remain affordable for everyone.

Do you have hospital insurance?
In most policies, both the co-payment and the additional fees are fully reimbursed within a certain period around the time of delivery.
This period varies per insurer*, for example:

  • from 1 month before to 3 months after delivery (this is the case in most cases)

  • or from 2 months before to 6 months after delivery

*Be sure to check your policy for any deviations from this rule.
